About the event

Winter is the perfect time of year to slow the body down. A wonderful way to accomplish this is through a Yin Yoga practice. With the shorter days and longer nights our bodies naturally need to take pause physically and emotionally. The colder weather often brings with it sore joints and muscles. We can all benefit from taking time for a slow, grounding practice that helps to soothe the nervous system and direct awareness to the mind-body connection. We will find sweet pauses in our Yin postures to deeply open the connective tissue or fascia which is so important for supporting our joints, bones, and muscles. These postures follow the three principles of Yin Yoga which are finding the edge of your posture, holding the pose in stillness, and remaining in the pose for time. Each posture is held for three to five minutes. The majority of Yin poses are either seated or reclined on the mat.

Join Martha for a wonderful two hour Yin Yoga Meditation and Yoga Nidra on Saturday, February 10th from 1:00-3:00 PM. Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep offers deep rest and rejuvenation with trace awareness. It is an opportunity to do nothing and gain profound effects through a guided restful meditation while reclined in Savasana.
